Programme of work

Submitted by sanfasal on

The mobility programme will be focused on the analysis and comparison of existing technologies/software dedicated to landscape modelling and reconstruction. The goal of his internship will be the identification of requirements and constraints of landscape reconstruction, analysing eventually the possibility of developing an open source solution/solutions (it might be extension of an already existing technology) to fulfil those requirements. A specific focus will be reserved to those technologies that can handle (import/export) reality-based models and geospecific information. The comparison will start with VisualNatureStudio. The intern will follow the work in the lab aimed at reconstructing a territory nearby Padova during the 19th century, within the Aquae Patavinae VR project (www.aquaepatavinae.it). He will compare Eon Vue, following the work of reconstruction of the Tiber Valley during Roman age, for the Tiber Valley Virtual Museum. Finally he will test. Other tools and solutions will be harvested, in last scientific conf. and in the open source domain (blender)The intern will work with 3d modellers and programmers. Duration: 14 weeks (8 weeks at CNR ITABC)

  • 2 weeks - preparation
  • 4 weeks analysis (at CNR ITABC)
  • 4 weeks of further harvesting and final proposal (at CNR ITABC)
  • 2 weeks of testing
