Virtual Museum Academy

Virtual Museum Academy

Dendara VR appplication at Culturama
The Virtual Museum Academy was organized by V-MusT network of excellence. In 2012 the Academy was co-organised with LinkSCEEM EU project. Organisers of this edition were: Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Cultnat. Partners were: Allard Pierson Museum Amsterdam, CINECA, CNR ITABC, CNR ISTI, Cyprus Institute, Fraunhofer IGD, University of Thrace - Greece, Institute Ausonius - INRIA.

The academy welcomed museology experts working in Cultural Heritage institutions, leaders of Museums or visitor centres, researchers in Cultural Heritage, and those interested in improving or adopting a technological installation. This workshop answered main questions like: what is a virtual museum? How to develop, exchange, re-use and maintenance it? Which are main technologies for virtual museums? The entire workflow was described: from 3d accurate acquisition of CH to post-processing, from Digital Documentation to digital production of real-time and not real-time applications. Demos were provided, together with success stories.

This workshop provided information that could be essentials for all decision makers in your museum.
