Cyprus Virtual Heritage School

Virtual Heritage School on Digital Cultural Heritage: 3D documentation, imaging technologies and knowledge repositories. The workshop focused on advanced technologies applied to Cultural Heritage (CH) for the preservation and dissemination of results, through education and training in information and communication technologies. It has been focused on technologies for digital data acquisition (photogrammetry, laser scanning and Polynomial Texture Mapping), the use of open-source software for data post-processing and metadata standards and knowledge management.

Swedish Virtual Heritage School: design of a virtual museum

This was the first edition of the Swedish Virtual Heritage School; this event has been strongly focused in analysing and exploring the key factors that define a cultural experience. The School was part of the VIRTUAL HERITAGE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL PROGRAM. The Swedish Virtual Heritage School has been mainly focused on what are the key factors to successfully design a virtual museum.

Italian Virtual Heritage School: Virtual Archaeology

It was the 4TH ITALIAN SCHOOL OF VIRTUAL ARCHAEOLGY. This year the School was organised by CNR ITABC and CNR ISTI and included COMPUTER GRAPHICS. It was organised in cooperation with CINECA and University of Padova. It's origins are from CNR ITABC and University of Padova "Virtual Archaeology" national school (2009-2011).

German Virtual Heritage School

The school introduced participants to the new field on web deployment of VR and AR Applications ("VR/AR Apps") as well as related topics on applied CG technology in the area of virtual and augmented digital heritage, 3D reconstruction, technological tools dedicated to processing and integration into web front ends, ported to mobile smartphones and registered with the physical world. The students have learned basic concepts for 3D documentation, capturing, tracking and reconstruction technologies required for online/offline and mobile virtual museums.

United Kingdom Virtual Heritage School

VIRTUAL RESTORATION AND RECONSTRUCTION IN A LONDON CHARTER FRAMEWORK

The UK Virtual Heritage School explored the theory and best practice of heritage visualisation. The school was offered by the Department of Digital Humanities at King's College London, UK and was led by King's Visualisation Lab (KVL), which specialises in the creation of digital visualisations for historical research, archaeology and cultural heritage. KVL is well known for its leadership in establishing and promoting international standards for such work, most notably through the London Charter for the Computer-based Visualisation of Cultural Heritage. The School syllabus is guided by the principles of this charter.

Swedish Virtual Heritage School 2013

The Swedish Virtual Heritage School is mainly focused on the key factors for the successful design of a virtual museum. V-MUST.NET is the largest European Network of Excellence dedicated to Virtual Museums (www.v-must.net). Part of its actitivities are focused on training and mobility. The V-MUST training program aims to create qualified professionals with mixed expertise in Cultural Heritage, Information and Communication Technologies and Natural Sciences.
